Here are just some of the ways we reach out to help in our community:
MCC RELIEF KITS
From time to time the congregation is given a special invitation to bring materials for relief kits or school kits. Last Christmas we collected enough items to put together 21 relief kits to assist people around the world.
MAKING QUILTS AND KNOTTING COMFORTERS
A women’s group meets to make quilts for sale to raise money for Mennonite Central Committee. The comforters mostly go to people displaced from their homes.
FOODGRAINS BANK PROJECT
Each year a men’s group organizes a growing project. The money raised goes to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
VOLUNTEERING AT THE FOOD BANK
After the Thanksgiving food drive, a group of women help the local Food Bank to sort it all.
TEA BALL PROJECT
Raising money for MCC. For over 50 years Floradale Mennonite Church has been making tea balls (little doughnuts) at the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale.
SHORT TERM MISSION TRIPS
Our most recent trip was to Guatemala in 2015 when a group helped to expand the facilities of a community/education organization called Anadesa in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala.
