Ponder Anew – August 26

Good morning,

In Deuteronomy 32 and 33, Moses writes a song and gives blessings to the twelve tribes of Israel. He was not allowed to go to the Promised Land, so he offered the words to the community of believers.

In John 13-17, during the last meal that Jesus has with his disciples, he washed their feet at the beginning of the meal. At the end of their time together, he offered to God a prayer of them. Immediately following his prayer, he was arrested.

I offer a prayer of blessing to you, the Floradale Mennonite Church:

Lord of the Starfields, Ancient of Days, Creator of Heaven and Earth,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be pastor here for 25 years.
Thank you for a deeply faithful congregation, that has lived out its faith on a daily basis everyday.
Thank you for giving me the chance to preach, teach and live among such a generous community.

Bless this place with new energy for the task of living out their faith into the future.
Bless the people of Floradale with wisdom, patience and faith.
Bless this place with your holy presence, so they might be encouraged..

I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Saviour. AMEN.

Thanks for all that you have been to our family, Shirley, Lucas, Alison and Levi, Jared, Hannah and Caleb for these 25 years.

Shalom and strength for our journey of faith and life.

Fred
